I have a Roth SDIRA with only about $11,000 in it.  It is currently deployed at Lending Club making like 7% which is basically nothing on $11,000.  From time to time I have the opportunity to buy cheap houses and flip for like $5-$10k profit.  Is this something I could use my SDIRA for?

Yes I'm aware.  This is not my fight but I support the effort.  "We buy houses" should not be a protected trademark.

I asked a patent attorney friend about something similar a few years ago.  He replied "You cannot protect marks that are merely descriptive. You cannot prevent others from using those same descriptive words. You need to choose a trademark\service mark that is not merely descriptive of your services."

I always thought it was ridiculous someone was able to protect that phrase.  Help the cause:

I'm looking at an established business to buy for my wife to run.  It is an existing business (not real estate related) and nets about $5000/mo with limited owner involvement.  However I'm a bit of a libertarian and like all franchise agreements there are so many rules...

I sold a house owned by a land trust a few days ago. My LLC is the beneficiary and I am the trustee. The check is payable to 123 Main Street Trust. My bank will not let me deposit this check without obtaining an EIN and opening an account in the name of the trust. Any ideas? The title company will not reissue the check to a different entity or wire out the funds either.

I bought it last month for $30,000.  The buyer is offering $40,000 with 10% down and balance Wells Fargo "conventional" mortgage.
