I live with my grandfather expense free and I just received about 10k of extra money. I want to get into real estate investment. What should I do first!?? I have an interest in owning a quadplex but it seems like everything is OVERPRICED and one person advise not to do real estate because everyone is eating up the equity since the market is high. Should I just stick with stocks and wait???

NEWBIE ALERT I’m just a little lost about the loan process. I want to purchase a multi-family (four plex) to rent out, but im concerned that if I get approved for a loan it hinder my future purchases for more multi-family homes. Another thing, I eventually want to purchase a single family home for me, my wife, and 6 children. Will that also interfere with me with being approved or should I focus on making the first purchase a home for my family? Right now we stay with my grandfather. Me and my wife are both self-employed. I run a commercial recording studio and she owns a hair salon.

@Dawn Brenengen Thank you for the encouragement! Fear tries to creep in so I tell my myself that if I wait for the perfect moment then it would be less of a risk.

@Christopher Phillips WOW! The breakdown of the different niche and strategies really helped me a lot! Basically the market is forever changing but there are various ways to succeed if you put in the work.

THANK YOU BOTH!!

I'm a newbie and want to get into real estate investments. As of now, I want to start with either SFH or MFH. I hear statements all the time about WHEN to start REI. My question is does it matter when I enter the market being a newbie?
