You guys sure are helpful and I am definitely enjoying this forum! Happy investing to all :)

Brian Burke I just graduated last May with a double major in finance and risk management. I just looked at what classes I would need to get the minor in RE. I was actually aware that having a bachelors in RE would meet the requirement but didn't realize a minor would work. If only I would have taken the extra 3 classes. I could always go back but will definitely think it over a lot more.

Theresa K. That seems reasonable and makes sense. I am not getting into over 4 units for a few more years. My original question on over 5 was a little down the road pondering and preparing

Thanks for the link Sandy Blanton. Good info both for and against having the brokers license. I think for now I will go ahead without pursuing the license.

Can't I work with agents who specialize in multifamily investments who have the resources to this information?

In CA you need 2 years experience as a salesperson or something that requires a salesperson license to be eligible to even take the CA brokers exam. Pretty sure I do not want to go that route and will stick to investing :)

Victor Chico With our commercial property my brother and i have we each do different activities. He is more hands on and does maintenance upkeep, where I focus on lease renewals, handling of rent and tax preparation.

While my situation is running smooth, I have seen some very chaotic and unpleasant dealings with family owning property together. And, I am looking to work by myself in my next deal.

I see there are many others that share my belief about Facebook. I recently deactivated my account to spend my time more diligently.

There seems to be a wide variety of investors/real estate people in this forum. Hoping to meet some of you and continue to share our knowledge with each other.

Also, thanks for the tips on tax basis and setting keyword notifications!

Hi Victor,

I also fell into real estate investments after my Grandpa gave my brother and I a commercial property. It is such a great accomplishment for someone to share their success and help get the ball rolling for family members.

Not everyone that inherits real estate would know what to do with it and some would sell it to buy that nice car or bigger house. By studying real estate investments and using tools like this forum I feel like you can make smart decisions to continue building wealth and continue the tradition of passing on income producing assets to family.

Best of luck to you!

I stumbled upon this forum a while ago, used it sparingly at first, but now I see what a great tool it is for anyone interested in real estate and investing.

I am 23 years old and was born and raised in Loomis, CA (small town about 30 minutes from Sacramento). Real estate investing has been an important part of my grandparents life and I learned that it can be used to gain significant wealth and financial freedom with hard work and time.

Currently. I am looking to use a buy and hold strategy in Sacramento, CA. I manage a piece of commercial property that I inherited but am eager to get my own investments rolling.

I would love to hear from anyone on the forum but especially people around the Sacramento area :)
