Post: Moving to Savannah Ga upcoming months

Just to give you guys a little about me I'm currently active duty military, due to arrive in Savannah no sooner than September. I'm not just set on utilizing my VA loan but also interested in using a FHA 203k loan for a flip or rehab of a property if the opportunity presents itself..

Through zillow and other real estate websites I feel the market might not have what I'm looking for. Hoping to find a investor friendly REA in the area.

So I'm very interested in a couple things, any multi-family units in a good neighborhood ( can be turnkey or in need of some rehab)

Single family home in need of some registration ( obviously looking for a profit margin)

The investment would be owner occupied and would be my first investment/purchase. I would really like the multi, but I'm not turned away by getting a fixer-upper SFH and sitting on it for a couple years to sell for an untaxed profit.

Honestly other than the actual property, I'm more than excited to start networking and plan to find local REI meetings to attend..

@Account Closed Hello Robert!

How's everything going for ya? Get your feet wet with any investing? I'm actually PCS'ing to Hunter in the Sept. time frame. I would love to have an update to how you are doing or what your finding. I'm actually going to start looking at some HUD homes once I get a little closer. Thinking about finding a little project to renovate and rent or maybe just a turnkey rental.

Also I forgot to add, I have someone I used to go to school with thats a real estate agent here in Inverness. Says all of Citrus County is in a need of rentals.. Thats why I came here, to hear from others, get some different input.

Well @Crystal H. it's a three bed, two bath single family. I've actually never purchased a home and this would be my first one getting my feet wet into RE investing. Kinda of high for what I was aiming for, don't think I'm actually going to pursue anymore. Owner was gonna finance with 10k down and 5% a year for 25 (120,000) for the home.. I honestly don't know to much about owner financing and not sure it was the best interest to go with.

How's it going for everyone? I'm from the Inverness area but actually active duty military. I was most recently considering a deal actually in Inverness. Looking to make passive income off the property and just curious to how the demand is for a rental for a single bed room.
