Thanks for sharing @James Rodgers It is great to hear about people who are taking the time to truly listen to those around them. In this case, it rewarded you in a huge way! A tangible reminder of how worthwhile investing in others truly is on a much greater scale. Thanks for making the world around you better!

@Faye Omar I have personally been the tenant who signed a lease without ever seeing the property (this was in Texas). I was moving from one state to another and needed housing lined up before I got there for a job transfer.

They communicated clearly that I was signing the lease without seeing it and warned me it was an older home etc. I knew the responsibility I was taking and when I arrived I was just happy to have a home to settle into. If you find responsible tenants, and the terms are communicated clearly, they will respect the legality of signing the lease.  Best of luck! :)

I'll shoot you a message with some ideas @Rachel Payton  I wouldn't spend any money on paying to advertise, but definitely listing on more free sites would help you immensely.

@Rachel Payton  Are you marketing in other places? While Craigslist is a great place to start, I'd highly recommend you market it across multiple listing channels.

@Jonathan Perez as a tenant, I would never worry about what clothes my landlord was wearing. How you handle the landlord/tenant relationship will dictate how much they respect you, not the clothes you are wearing. I wouldn't sweat your attire too much. :)

Congratulations! This is a really cool story to read. Thanks for sharing your journey. Wish you all the best with your units.

@Cary O.  I had a lot of friends buying in the HEB area because of the convenience of commuting to jobs in any of the major cities. DFW is an incredible area, with so much opportunity. Probably one of the best job markets I have ever participated in. I need to take a trip back and see how much has changed since I left!!! I bet it's already a lot.

Best of luck to you!

@Cary O.  Welcome to BP! What part of DFW do you reside in? I lived in Fort Worth proper for a while, over by the Cultural District. Such a good location to invest in, as the economy seems to keep thriving. We watched as rental prices continually rose while we lived there, particularly with all the development over by West 7th. Watching that neighborhood change was crazy!

Post: Credit report number

@Jim S. The initial credit score generated for you will be based upon your initial performance. It could be anywhere from under 500 to the 700s. There isn't a set number everyone starts out with, it is greatly determined by what your first "credit building" event was.

Most of the time the number will be low because of the short history and "thin" file. However, someone at 21 could have a great credit score if they opened a credit card at 18 and responsibly managed their credit. At 21 I had outstanding credit.

More good info can be found here: https://www.savvyoncredit.com/credit-score-everyon...

Hope that helps!
