@Kyle Zochert Hi Kyle, I'm from Austin as well and am currently under contract in Denver Heights. First property in San Antonio. I'm still trying to figure out the SA market. I joined their MLS in hopes that it would help but I've found it's not as user-friendly as Austin's. Welcome!

Thank you, Ben! Yeah, definitely a learning process with the financing. I bet I'll look back on these posts one day and laugh.

 It's for long-term financing. There are tenants currently renting out the two units and commercial side...month to month. We figured we could fix it up a bit while they are living there and eventually raise rent. We have a list of people to call and have learned a lot through BP and already talking to lenders. Hopefully, lock something down tomorrow. Thank you for the tips!

I'm under contract on an interesting property. It's one structure that is a duplex on one side and commercial on the other. 130K. I found a lender who will do it but I wasn't thrilled with his terms but he did say he could do it in 30-45 days. Yet, I was wondering if approaching a local bank would be best? If so, any recommendations on who to approach? I live in Austin so any contacts/advice would be greatly appreciated!

@Ram Gonzales Currently under contract on a duplex/commercial property. It's $130K and trying to lock down financing. Would a local bank be best for this?

Does anybody know any reputable contractors in San Antonio? Need to get some bids on a fixer upper.

I'm interested in the SA auction as well. Anybody on BP familiar with it? I bought a house at an auction in Atlanta for $50k. The previous owners still live in it and have paid rent on time every month for a year. I got lucky I suppose.

@Mike Garland Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it! I'm coming from Austin, so I'm ok with a little competition. I'll check around Denver Heights.

 I was also wondering if anybody has any experience with Auction homes in San Antonio.

I'm looking into investing in a property around $40-60K My plan is rehab (20-30K), rent, and hold. I've heard Dignowity Hill is a good area but apparently I won't be able to find a place for my budget. What other areas do you think would be good for my plan? I'd rather pick a spot where millennials are moving since I know that market well.

@brian

@Brian Phelt that's good to know! I thought the rental market wouldn't be too hot...I did a quick search on craigslist but I joined SABOR today, so hopefully I'll get better insight. Your MLS is quite different than ours. I sent my friend a commercial property today that had already been sold...oops.
