You take classes at a school like BCit for a couple months then work for ten months (and get paid). Keep going for four years like that to get your Red Seal plus lots of experience or do something different when you feel you've learned enough. The government wants to increase people working in the trades so student loans and grants will offset much of the cost of taking the courses and if you're eligible for EI you can collect while going to school.

Thank you so much for the advice! I will definitely look into those courses. I really appreciate it!

Hi! Im really want to learn about how renovations are done, doesn't matter if its tearing down walls, painting, or installing.. basically anything. Im willing to offer my help for free with the exchange of just on the job experience. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. Thank you, once again really just want to learn as much as I can.

Hi guys! I've been wanting to start my real estate journey, but currently am stumped and hoping I could get advice about this situation. I live in Vancouver, BC but am wanting to invest in rental properties in Saskatchewan. The problem is that I am rarely in the country due to work. I am a professional figure skater and I travel doing shows both in the states, Asia, and Europe 10 months out of the year. If I were to buy a rental property would I have to be physically there or could a property manager or real estate agent help me with that?

I'm sorry if this sounds kind of a stupid question, just really hoping for some advice.

Thank you
-Gary

Hi everyone, I'm currently 25 and a complete newbie to BiggerPockets. I currently live in Vancouver, BC but am rarely home as I travel for 10 months out of the year for work. My aim is to buy my first rental property in late 2020, however I would like to buy a property in Saskatchewan, 2 provinces down from where I live as my first rental. I currently struggle with being out of town (or country) for such a long time and just trying to figure out what to do.

I joined BiggerPockets to learn and make connections and overall relationships in this crazy real estate market.

Thank you
-Gary
