@Mark Dolfini

Thank you for sharing your experience and your personal vision. This reminds me of when I switched careers a while back, I didnt have a "plan" and kind of went along with what was happening, but didnt have an clear goals or benchmarks. I read someone use the term "Lifestyle by design". This sounds like a way to list out your life goals, and use RE to achieve them. Thanks for sharing your Vision also.

@Cynthia B. We have a huge number of contractors where I live, both good and not so much. Some advice that local flippers told me was to talk to local RE agents, mortgage lenders, etc and see who they knew of since they lived here longer than we did. This gave me a list of 5 contractors that were pretty decent. We also used Angie's list and found one more. Then we started calling them to have a brief phone interview and invite them to our house to bid the repairs. Of the 6 contractors, only one made it on time and he was a great resource. We have been using him for ourselves and recommending him to others. Goodluck!

@Bob Woelfel Ill look that book up. Thank you. And I guess I've fallen into that trap as well. I just had a conversation this week about how I feel like a squirrel with 10 acorns scattered around me and I keep running from one to the other but get none of them back to the tree. Someone mentioned that it may be time to start cutting off the fat and focusing on the ones that are more promising, and coming back to the others later. Thanks!

@Russell Gronsky It definitely seems like everyone is busy here! Hopefully working towards that RE goal! That is a very interesting approach. I like the names you gave the different types of activities as well. And it sounds like you doing that change in your scheduling helped get your RE investing going quickly? Thats exciting! And yes, you have to want it to push past the discomfort! Thanks!

@Lana Lee Great idea. Fill my free time with education and learning. I like that alot! That's great that you have a triplex also. You are farther along than I am. Do you like managing your property? Are you planning to grow into more properties? And congratulations on being able to have multiple properties!

@Jon K. Thanks for giving me that info. That doesnt sound preachy at all. Im glad to hear that you (and many other people here) are working to try and make sure they have their family as the main priority and still working hard to get the RE investing up and moving along. Since we may have more obligations than the really young investors, our growth may be slower, but from what I am seeing we will still achieve our goal. What's the old adage, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” Thanks for the systems advice also. That seems to be a big factor in success.

@Jason D. That is some serious dedication there and thank you for sharing that. I like that comment about making yourself uncomfortable. It's great to hear that by making those decisions now, you and your family will have a lifestyle that you wanted! How big was your first BRRR? Did you see a big difference in your time towards your RE investing after getting it?

@Bob Woelfel Sounds like you are in a similar family setup. Those little pockets of time seem to be helpful if I can get them planned out, or at least be productive. Do you ever use a blocked schedule to plan your day or a To Do list? Im thinking of using the time blocking to better map out my days. Thoughts?

@Frank Geiger I like where you're going with your suggestions. I should work towards a "slimmer" daily schedule and fit in time here and there to build the RE business. During my lunches I am usually multi-tasking with networking and meeting with potential team members in the area, or analyzing deals if not getting some physical activity in.

@Jimmy Deringer You are absolutely right! Sticking to my goals and aspirations, and comparing my progress to myself is such a good way to try and stay focused. Do you have a team of resources where you invest and can you see a difference in the amount of time required from you with them?
