Balancing life while trying to getting into RE investing?

Good morning BP members! This is the start of my investing career and first actual post. I am currently working a typical 8-5 job through the week. We have two kids under 3 yo, my wife is also working late into the evenings so I am with the kids until about 8pm while cooking and cleaning. I've found some time looking at properties every morning so that has been a small move towards getting away from the 8-5 job. But we have been having challenges trying to make sure we have time for everything, and sometimes a chance to relax. We have a little time on the weekends, but still with work schedules the weekends are busy also. I wanted to see if this was similar to any of you more experienced investors when you first started out.

How did you balance your life in the beginning when you tried to get your first rentals? Were there any lessons that you learned that could be helpful?

Thanks for your replies!

First of all, Real estate is life

Second, WELCOME!!!

I'm not sure your question here, everyone is going to have different responsibilities and goals. For example, I have no kids and don't like to relax so I dedicate a LOT of my time towards real estate and similar investing endeavors. Once i picked up some momentum in RE I started dedicated much more time towards it and other things fell to the wayside. Put as much effort into it as you can to get your goals met. If you're comparing yourself to others you're going to always get a bruised ego because there is always a 26 year old kid who just bought his 500th unit that you just can't compete with. do the most YOU can to get to YOUR goals, then adjust as you get better. .

Buying the first house or two isn't so hard. I bought my first house hack while working 60 hours a week and full time in college.....and I'm a lazy moron. You can do this, promise.
