So far as meetups and networking, Rich Groves (post above) is the man!  I'm happy to vouch for Rich!  He hosts a number of great networking groups, all in MO now but as he said, they draw investors from IL too.  ...and he's my Cahokia expert / go-to guy!

The GRID meetup in Edwardsville (also mentioned above by Rich Groves) is new but I understand it's drawing lots of folks.  I haven't had opportunity to attend yet.  It's hosted by a really great young man, Caleb Davis (https://www.biggerpockets.com/users/calebd)

There are lots of good title companies in the area.  I like Maverick Title in Glen Carbon.  A little closer are Metro Title and Pontoon Title, both in Granite City.  Abstracts & Titles are also good.
