I strongly recommend checking out Century 21 Ace Realty in Appleton. They have been amazing with training and support. They offer a lot of leads as well, which is great for new agents. Please feel free to message me if you have the time!

@Donald D Michna

Chad Miller with Bristol Morgan (fond du lac)

Maybe Matt Bakalars with Fox Valley Savings Bank.

Phil Mears or Kyle Hauke could help you too.

I’ve worked with Chad, Kyle and Matt and from what I can tell, Chad has the most options as far as investment property financing.

@Erickson Sainval

Yes! The best ever syndication book by joe fairless. He is also running a virtual conference this week! (The best ever real estate conference). I went to the in-person conference last year and it was top notch. Loved it!

@John Underwood yes sir. And corporate housing. There is supposedly a shortage of it here. We are also a college town. Right now we have a month to month renter in the lower unit who is only here for a short time as a teachers aid, so she is renting it furnished.

We just purchased a fully furnished duplex and have had some great advice to get us started, but if you have any wise advice (hopefully from going through it yourself) I would love to hear it. We are looking to have a minimum of a 3 month stay for renters, with all furniture, heat, water and internet provided. We have two furnished units but are looking to perhaps have one be a long-term, non-furnished space, for steady income and one remain as a furnished. Thoughts? :)

I own properties in the Oshkosh area and you are correct about Appleton/Neenah. Fondulac rents tend to be lower than Oshkosh, but from what I have found, you will pay less for houses down there. Everything is in high demand right now and inventory is low. Many of us don't love the city of Oshkosh because property taxes tend to be high and the city is a pain to work with. What kind of property are you looking for?

Hi Jennifer!

I am in the Fox Valley as well and have bought several duplexes. We have used Nicolet Bank and Fox Valley Savings Bank (Matt Bakalars). I have worked with Matt on several deals and have a lot of good things to say about him. He is detailed but personable and really gets to know his clients.

If you ever want to meet up, I would love to get together!

@Jason Graves thanks for the advice. Right now their money is in CDs. I know literally nothing about the stock market, admittedly, since my parents put it down constantly as a kid. Never even occurred to me to try to mess with it. I have several properties and know way more about buying rentals than I do about stocks, so for me, it’s the “safe” way to go for them. If they truly aren’t interested by that age, I won’t force it, but always think about where I would be had my parents taken the time to learn about real estate investing. I would have loved that as a kid! (I sold things to my brothers at a young age to make money. I was always coming up with ideas). Anyway, always fun to hear other’s advice and take it into consideration. 👌
