Hello bigger pockets!

Latly I have seen some deals for multifamily in rocky mountt nc. How is this area? Is it a bad area/dangerous? Bad tenants? The deal I saw was in Nash County and had potential to cash flow! This would also be our first long distance investment. I live in Jacksonville nc... any advice on the area? Or advice on renting out to lower income based areas ?

@Whitney Hutten

Thank you! We are excited! I will keep that in mind to find a contractor that knows how to work with 203 k loans. My husband called a lot of different lenders to see how they handle 203 k loans and yes some of them do them but dont even know how they work! So we will be using a lender that can actually answer questions about them. Yes we are doing this because we do not have enough yet for a good down payment with ckncential loan even though we are house hacking and making cash flow on 2 properties! My husband is military so our two properties are with the VA loan. We are looking to buy around the camp lejeune area near topsail beach so I feel it is a good area for appreciation. Hoping to be able to make cash flow on the 203k property once we move out in a few years.

@Jacob Girard

I have not had a tenant move out yet.. however neither of my tenants are military! We put away a percentage per door for vacancy so incase we do have a month or two of vacancy we can cover it. I would think since this is a military town it would be "easier" to rent out :) I am not worried about it!
