My creation of separate accounts for owner/host was accidental, and I regret it. I've had a number of occasions where it was a real pain to have both accounts. There also seems to be no going back. I called ABB to see if the accounts could be merged or I could delete one. Further complications.

If you are a member of groups like this one and those on Facebook, you may not ever really stop buying. LOL. I am constantly getting ideas from these groups for things I'd like to add. Luggage racks! Tissue boxes! Feminine products! Flashlights by each bed! Puzzles and Games! Eye masks! I don't always succomb to these suggestions, but my business model is guest service, so I'm very susceptible to ideas for cool things to have on hand for guests. Also get a lot of guest compliments on how well-equipped the listings are.

Also consider heated mattress pad and/or blanket for the bed.

Not really your target respondent (not in major resort area), but I don't find it much additional work to list on ABB, along with VRBO/HA. The mix is important to me because allegedly VRBO guests are more into planning ahead and ABB guests are more into spontaneous trips, as reflected in the fact that VRBO dominates my bookings in the summer, but ABB does the rest of the year. Since people who come to resorts are planners, you might be good with just VRBO/HomeAway. But it certainly can't hurt to add ABB, and it's really not much more work.

I attempted to have "deep cleanings" done right befire I started and 1 year in and wish I had asked the cleaners (different folks each time) how they define "deep clean." Or specified how I define "deep clean." Both ended up being no deeper than a weekly cleaning.

I seem to recall folks who appeared on Shark Tank who created an STR platform for this purpose.

I just started using an ultrasonic device repellant device. Too soon to tell if it's working.

I also have no air conditioning.

Yay, I have all these except dishwasher, the lack of which has never hurt my bookings. I do provide disposables for those who don't want to wash dishes.
