I like to group people's ability to earn a living into the old report card method of grading: A, B, C...  A's and B's will be the entrepreneurs, inventors, educators, etc.  C's are the soldiers.  D's are handicapped in some way and F's are the criminals.  The A's and B's will do fine with no minimum wage.  The D's are always going to need help in some form or another.  The F's are criminals and are on the wrong side of society.  The problem is the C's.  These are good people who want to do a job and get paid a living wage.  If we can solve this problem America will be fine.

I have one renter who has automatic payments sent to me via check.  I had one borrower do the same.  However, at that time I would spend 6 months in one place and 6 months in another.  The bank was unwilling to accommodate this continuing change of address.
