@Alexander Bandza welcome to BP - just a day on here and I've already met a couple nice people that are willing to help and share knowledge.

I did read as well for multi-unit properties that anything over 4 units requires a commercial level loan. I have been to Chicago several times myself and love the downtown. Also, I noticed there is several investors on the forum from Chicago so I imagine you will be networking in no time.

@Curt Smith - Thanks for the welcome Curt. I do not have any far fetched dreams that I will become a billionaire overnight, so I do expect lots of blood, sweat, tears along with some trial and error learning as well before I can even relax for a minute.

Is there any local area events where I can meet some fellow investors? I would like to meet some real life mentors that are willing to share any type of knowledge with me. I honestly believe knowledge is power.

I see the REIA GA has a meeting coming up in September. I will try my best to attend this event.

@Mehran K. - thanks brother. I'm very excited about the new baby. :)

I appreciate the information and will start checking the sites just to familiarize myself with all of them.

I read and watched the video regarding the 50% rule. Makes sense to me.

Again, thanks for the welcome and looking forward to building some relationships on here.

Hello BP Members!

I have finally decided to create an account on the BP forum after reading for the past few weeks. Definitely obvious that is a good place to learn a lot and share experiences as well.

My small introduction ---

I'm 29 years old and expecting my first child very shortly. I currently have no stakes in any properties and am trying to learn as much as possible before making my first move.

I've got access to MLS listings as I have a family member that holds a real estate agent license.

Ideally I would like to get my foot in the door by obtaining some multi-plex properties to begin my initial cash flow and portfolio. I dream of owning at least 2 quadplexes. I would then like to take my cash flow and start investing in SFR's.

I have a decent job and am mainly looking to supplement my income. I would eventually like to retire and have a few good SFR holdings to assist me with retirement income.

I'm open to any advice, suggestions and opinions...

One question that I do have at the moment is where is a good source to seek out MFR's?

Thanks again and I apologize for the lengthy introduction...
