About budgets. I wasn't asking anyone to decide a budget for me. I'm not a little girl and this isn't my first business venture :-) With that being said, we discussed a $300K budget with a realtor down in PS and he came back saying that it was rather light so that's why I asked someone who is already doing it--what would be realistic. We are not interested anything other than SF homes. We don't have a specific target budget because like you, we like a great deal. Wanting to invest in a location and it being a great idea are two vastly different things. ROI is important to us.

If you haven't spoken at length about your mountain, feel free to tell us how you're doing up there or if you have any tips. Otherwise, I'll go do a search of your posts and study. Thanks.  

Thanks @John D. and @Tom Kastorff. The things that you mention TJ about PS is something we have been seeing too and wonder if BB would be a better first time option. We want to have 2-3 STRs in 3 years ideally. Maybe PS should be our #2. TJ, where is your STR/s?

John, we were also looking in La Quinta and Indio. Airdna shows an attractive ROI. A realtor down there asked for our budget. What do you think is realistic? We also know that we should be looking for something with a pool. Do you have a realtor that you'd recommend?

What has been your experience with the area? I realize that is a huge question but just tell me what you want and we can evolve from there if you’re up for it.

The point, Ken, would be if you had posted telling someone else to send you a message because you had a list of service providers in an area where the OP was looking and the person browsing would also like to have access to that list. Or maybe you mention that you have a buddy who is a realtor in that area instructing them to send you a message for his/her info. Do you prefer they start a completely new thread and tag your name to ask you for that info? Probably not.

@Jon Crosby Awesome advice. Thanks so much. I’ve read many posts about the areas we are looking at but not sure how they’re doing now. I’d want to talk to the people who initially posted just starting out to see how their investments are doing but maybe they were one and done on this site. Do you know if there are any good Facebook groups for this stuff?

@Nidal Daraiseh That’s a great idea. With an infant at home and being a film Producer, I have no room to plan an event like that! Are you an investor in California?

Hi, my husband and I are going to invest in STR vacation property either in Palm Springs or Big Bear. We'd like to network with other people already doing it to learn from and with people just starting out like us to learn with. We've been reading and reading and reading this forum for a long time.
