Hey guys I'm new to Investing, just started escrow on my 1st property. 2 houses on 1 lot. I plan on house hacking. I watched a video where this guy was explaining how to pay off your mortgage in 5-7 years. He explained of getting a HELOC on your house for x amount of money, using 95% of the heloc towards your principal and living off of the other 5% untill your heloc was paid and repeat the proccesss. Hope this makes sense. Checking to see if it's possible.

@Garrett Hawk im glad you mentioned the .5-.75% ive been messing around with some numbers, that's pretty accurate on the numbers ive been running. ive been stressing not finding 1%-2% homes.

I live in Central Valley in California. I don’t plan on buying multiple units right away, but my goal is to buy multiple units. I was thinking of purchasing a multi family unit. 

I have $18,000 to invest. I would like to focus on multi family. Build a rental portfolio. I currently am working full time job. Wife is a home maker. Our plan is to purchase multiple properties and have the wife manage. This is our 1st purchase, any suggestions ??
