As mentioned above in many of the posts look out of state. You might want to look at partnering to learn the ropes with an active investor and get your feet wet.

I have to agree with @Russell Brazil on his take above. I have a multi family in Somerville and whenever one of the units open up I usually have 20-30 applicants. High prices but also high demand.

For me, it would depend what the 2million dollar property is. Is it the 10 unit you’re looking for and it’s a good deal? If so, I say pull the trigger on it. Call some local banks and check their requirements.

As @Seth Williams pointed out, there is such a housing shortage right now. Even if we’re heading for a recession, it doesn’t mean it’s going to take the housing market down with it. Each recession is different and affects the economy differently. I agree with @Jared Smith about looking in central mass, you can still get decent returns.

Hey Kenny, welcome to BP and your investing adventure! I actually grew up down on the south shore in the Plymouth area. Not sure how tied down to the area you are, but I assume your open to house hacking? Don’t rule out central mass. You can find two families in that 160-200 price point.
