@Will F. That sounds like a great idea to put Solar in rentals but can you explain how that would benefit you? Could you charge a flat rate on top of rent and tell the tenant that they don't have to pay for electricity?

@Adam Vodanovich Do you know any one in the area that could be a good mentor or coach that I could learn from? Again I have no experience at all and this FortunesBuilders weekend seminar that I am attending isn't helping as much as I though!

@Adam Vodanovich The Jung hotel is a great spot just a few blocks away from bourbon and during mardi gras season he could hike the prices up sooooo much (like they already do)... He should be able to finish that in a minimum of two years and for sure the income from that would easily be enough to renovate the Plaza Tower

@Wayne Brooks I've wondered about that building and saw $ in my eyes I Guess its just a wild pitch.

@Adam Vodanovich There's been no movement or anything around this thing for the three years i've been in New Orleans but thanks

Located in the inner city of New Orleans there is tall building known as the Plaza Tower that is completely abandoned. The building itself is 45 stories tall and 531 ft tall. It's up for auction starting at $250,000. The Giannasca Group was supposed to renovate it for $120 million and convert it to a 197-unit condominium tower but hurricane Katrina destroyed that.

There is no one in there and it seems like its invisible because there no one fixing it or even worried about it. Well not asking about the cost of maintenance (which is estimated around $10 million) but what could come from such a building in a busy city like New Orleans? Is there anyway someone as broke and inexperienced as I could do all the research and wiggle my way into a grand deal like this? I know this is far from my level of real estate.

Exactly where and how (if definable) should you put your foot in the door. I've read lot of things on what you should do but what identifies them as the best things to do?

Hello All,

I'm am a fresh student, currently military separating very soon, who doesn't know anything at all about real estate. I found myself in a Fortune Builders Workshop and thought to myself "is this what real estate is really about". The information was good but the pitch to insinuate that if we aren't in the inner circle we won't have as good of a chance wasn't what i was looking for. The conference focused on the rewards and positive feedback on how investing we give you more money than your normal job now. Also the $25,000 fee for an education program, with no degree, had to be the cherry on top telling me there's defiantly another way to start my new journey. So I am here looking for a mentor or guru to help me take some steps towards my goals. I am located in New Orleans but soon will be moving to Dallas Tx. If there is any tips you have, I would love to learn from the brilliant minds of others.
