@Glenn Szilagyi, I found them through Meetup.com.  Here's their page:  http://www.meetup.com/CapitalREIA/events/228889948...

You can opt-in to get details on their meeting times and topics.

@Carson Sweezy@Glenn Szilagyi Sorry, my mistake. Tammy Phelps has a group called Capital City REIA.

@Glenn Szilagyi@Carson Sweezy There's a group I went to a while back called Capital REI Group. They meet in Alexandria, off Richmond Hwy.

They were ok.  A couple of times the meetings were mostly sales pitches, but other times they interview local turn key operators, etc.  I think they do alot of stuff in Baltimore.  They have paid tours to go look at rehabs.  I suppose they go to learn how to rehab.  I think they've even done Baltimore tours to give people an idea of the nuances of the neighborhoods.

Tammi Phelps is the host/coordinator.  She claims to have 100/500 units under her belt.  May be worth going, since she does deal with a lot of turnkey properties.

@Eric Yi, I'm not exactly sure if you get to choose in the case that you get sued.  But if you need to be on the offensive, you can choose from their lawyers at a discounted rate.

So essentially, if you get sued, they help you.  If you need to sue someone, you choose from their participating attorneys, and you pay a discounted rate.

I feel so dirty using the word sue, lol.  Litigate might be a better word?

Hi @Eric Yi, I tried Legal Shield a while back when I had a commercial cleaning business.  I only had it for a few months.  It felt like insurance -- you pay for it and wait until something happened.

Their business version allowed you to send emails to a group of people that would help you with legal questions, but their responses were usually just links to resources that could  help.

My experience was limited.  I would check to see if anyone else has had experience with them.

Hi @Glenn Szilagyi

What is it like working with Cash Flow Savvy?  I listen to Matt's podcast and actually joined his academy over a year ago, tried to get something going on the wholesale side in Northern Virginia but I don't think I was doing it right.  I got close on one deal but lost it to another investor.

I've been thinking about purchasing something through CFS but I've been interested in some input on a platform outside of Matt's podcast.

Unfortunately, only what I've heard from other that have memberships (and it's mostly about just how much they can get at lower prices.)  CostCo is enough for me - lol!
