@Mike Hurney For our investment properties, we found those through the MLS. We always look for properties in great areas (or the potential to be great in the next 5-10 yrs) and that need some work.

For pocket listings, my wife door-knocks every. single. day. She is a new agent, but she is working her tail off to not only build business, but also contribute to the community.

@Joshua Dorkin from one developer to the next, I'd be happy to test. BTW - this mention obviously worked. :)

In some places, when I try to use the @ mention feature, it isn't working. I'm using the lasted Chrome on a Mac.

When I use Chrome's developer dev tools, I can see several javascript errors which occur as I'm typing in a name. I'm presuming that it is this issue that is causing the feature to not work for me.

Here is the error:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of undefined in application-c198e790aca74aeb30103761adee3d78.js:22972

Hi from Century City / Beverly Hills @Edgar S, @Vicky Covarrubias, @Ali Boone, and @Jeff Coga.

If any of you are interested, I know of at least one pocket listing in the 90048 zip code that would make a great development prospect.

Also, are there any BiggerPockets LA groups that meet up? If so, I'd be interested in meeting you all there.

Thanks for the welcome @Manesh Hardeo! We definitely saw a lot of activitiy and potential in the Atlanta market. Our flip was in Marietta.

Congrats!

Would you mind sharing the financials with us? What did you pay for the home, what did you put down, what was the source of the down payment, and what kind of financing were you able to get?

Hi Everyone,

I'm a big fan of BiggerPockets and have been a lurker for quite some time. I decided that it was finally time I register and become more engaged with the rest of the community.

I'm currently a software developer at a large talent agency in Century City, LA but me and my wife are both licensed agents with some investment experience. My wife actually devotes all of her time to real estate sales.

We own an investment property in Boston and recently flipped a home in Atlanta - both of which were big projects, but ended up being fantastic experiences that made us fall in love with real estate.

I'm here because I want to expand my knowledge of real estate and ultimately, continue on my real estate-related goals (financing a new development, REIT's, real estate sales). I'm also here to try and gain whatever knowledge I can to help make my wife be successful in her sales career - which has shown to be quite challenging in the incredibly competitive LA-area.

Anywho - that's me. If you're near, say hi and maybe we can do some networking.

I'd be happy to share my insights and knowledge to anyone.

Thanks!
