Good list so far!

I'd also add some favorites:

- "Buying Real Estate Without Cash or Credit" by Peter Conti and David Finkel (if you have a capital source, still gives you a lot of creative strategies to think about)

- "Missed Fortune 101" by Douglas R. Andrew (Basically imagine a financial strategist questioning all the conventions about money and investing that many of us subscribe to. Really rocked my world and changed my thinking for the better)

- "Timing the Real Estate Market" by Robert Campbell (one of my all time favs that offers data driven analysis to look at the Real Estate market and economy, giving investors valuable indicators along the way)

Great, I will definitely be check those out. Thanks!

Hello All! I am looking for some ideas on books i should read. I am currently in RE sales, but looking to get into investment side of things soon. I am interested in books in those categories, or just great books in general. Here are the books I have already read, if that gives you an idea on the topics I like.

The One thing

Set for life

Pitch anything

The book on rental property investing

The book on negotiating real estate

I suggest you watch the webinars and listen to the podcasts.  You can listen to them as you drive to work or to meet a client.  I also encourage you to go Pro on here.  You get unlimited use of the BP calculators!  You could even use them to run numbers to help out investor clients.  :-)  (I'd love if I had an agent that did that for me.  lol)  If you decide you want to go Pro (which also allows you to watch the old webinars), wait until the Wednesday webinar.  I can't promise he will do it as I'm new, but the last 2 weeks, during the webinar, Brandon Turner has offered a 20% discount code for folks wanting to go Pro.  The code is good Wed-Fri.  Just pre-register for the webinar (through the webinars link under Education) and just before the webinar starts, look for an e-mail from Brandon Turner (maybe in Junk mail).  It has a link to click to take you to the webinar.

Good luck with all you plan to do!

Awesome, thank you! I will for sure have to get a pro membership.

I have thought about out of state investing, but not really sure on who to reach out to about that.

I started my landscape company when I was about 11 years old. I obviously just cut some yards in my neighborhood. When I was old enough to drive, i bought my first truck and expanded from there. I sold the business with 78 clients on contract, 3 trucks, and 2 trailers. I have been starting to narrow down some thing that I want to focus/not focus on. Thanks!

Hi Bryan.. I am starting to branch out into my local REIA and talk with anyone who has some knowledge and wants to share with me. Like you said, BP has some awesome information and I am on here as much as time will allow. Have a great day!

I’m assuming you spend time reading or listening to audio books. I spend almost a year doing research before getting my feet wet.
Charlotte is a very competitive market, having your license and working in Real Estate is a big advantage you will have to other investors.
If you have listen to Grant Cardone he will tell you to start big. He makes some good points but I don’t agree with everything he says..
I started with a Condo in Charlotte, modest start but it helped me get experience and form my team. I guess it all depends on the capital that you have and if you have any partners?
Don’t worry about not having a full team before having your first property, once you’re in it it falls into place

Hi Raul.. I do spent quite a lot of time listening to audiobooks. I always have a Grant Cardone video or another real estate investor video playing in my car when I'm driving or going to showing to showing. I have been doing as much research as time will allow and have even gone to some REIA meetings. I do not have much capital, but like I said I do have enough for a 20% down payment on a property up to 200K. How did you go about getting financing for your first property? I have only had credit for one year (i got a card when i was 18) so I'm trying to find some other options such as OPM. Thanks!

Hello all! I am 19 years old and just moved to Charlotte NC. I am currently working for a real estate company in Charlotte selling in NC and SC ( I’m licensed In both states). I am looking to start getting into real estate investment properties. I had a landscape company I sold in June and have some money put away for down payment and a safety cushion. I am looking for someone to give me advice on what type of investments I need to start with. I have open ears and would love to learn as much as I can. Thanks!
