One good way to do it is research the property through the county’s recorder of deeds and building an amortization calendar to get a rough estimate for what they have left and compare that to comps in the area.

You will have to hire a company to remove the asbestos. It isn’t cheap from what I have heard. They have to seal off the area they are working in so it doesn’t spread or get inhaled.

I am in a similar position. I have the flood plane butting up just under the addition that was built over the flood zone by 2’. Nothing else in the house is in the flood zone but they require flood insurance and call the house a “flood zone” because the two feet that are not ikon the ground. Even after extensive regrading of the property away from the house and ample amounts of draining installed in the ground.

From my experience that is up to the cut you are requesting through. We used hand drawings to scale for one house where another required professional prints. If you do them by hand they have to include everything.

What is ran to the property now? 

I have a duplex in the middle of being refinanced now with a small local bank in Mo. They are out there. Call around to your local banks.

Chec your local building code. NFPA 101 life safety code, Building codes and fire safety codes.
