Great investment Corbin! Excited to hear about it more at the meetup tonight!

Thank you @Jerry Padilla and @Andrew Postell for the responses!

That was a lot of very useful information! I am looking up a lot of the terms you guys said that I do not understand haha. I did not know that a HomeStyle Renovation loan even existed.

While I was looking around I saw a Homepath renovation loan for foreclosed properties. How do these work and is it something that is viable for me?

Hello BP!

I was wondering what type of loan I should expect from a lender if I have a good credit score, working as an engineer, and am looking to live in a small multifamily in the Tulsa area. I want to be able to wrap the repairs into the loan if possible. A small downpayment will also be nice but not required.

After living in the first small multifamily for about 6 months or a year and fixing it up should I look at refinancing? What rates or other variables should I be looking for in this?

For those in the Tulsa area, do you have any recommended lenders I can start building a relationship with?

Welcome to BP @Doug Scroggins!

It is nice to see someone else from Skiatook on the forums! I currently live out by the lake but I am looking for a small multifamily near Owasso to househack. I hope you and your wife do well on your RE journey.

Maybe we can meetup in Skiatook sometime to talk real estate. I would love to hear how your SFR is doing.

@Omar Khan @Lane Kawaoka @Caleb Heimsoth @Callum K. @Ali Boone @Tristan S. @Jacob Ayers

Hello all!

I wanted to thank all of you very much for your wise words of advice. I finished my degree and am now working at NORDAM working on airplanes. Something I have always wanted to do.

So now my girlfriend and I have been driving around trying to find some small multifamilies to househack near my job. I also have been looking for a great real estate agent to start building my team. Any suggestions on real estate agents, wholesalers, lenders, CPAs, lawyers, and so on.

By the way Jacob Ayers, I was listening to the BiggerPockets podcast and heard that there was an engineer that bought houses in Oklahoma. So I looked up the podcast notes and saw your logo looked familiar. Now here I am in one of my old posts and there you are! Haha, congrats on getting on show 281, I loved your story!

@Brandon L. I have been driving around but have not spotted anything for sale or that is vacant. I have been sticking close to the Owasso area so I will be close to work.

Hello BiggerPockets forums!

I have been quiet on here for some time while I finished up my schooling and job hunting. I am now in the Americas favorite rat race. Haha, I am kidding though, I love my engineering job and plan to do great things doing it.

Last time I was on here I was asking advice on where I should find my engineering job to best employ my real estate career in a great market. Then to my surprise most respond with: find a place I love to work, stay close to my family, and real estate will come after. I followed that advice and got a job at a company I always looked up to close to home.

So, here I am again. I am still living with ol' ma and pop. I am saving up money from my job. And still have no debt.

Now my girlfriend and I are looking for our first small multifamily close to work that we can buy with an FHA loan. We will live in the small multifamily and fix it up as we do so. This will be the start of our financially free journey so we can enjoy our younger years doing things that we want to do. As of today I am looking for a great real estate agent and/or wholesaler to help me find our first deal in the Owasso or Northeastern Tulsa area. I know I will be looking for the rest of my team shortly after so any other recommendations would be great!

@Deren Huang looking forward to next meetup!

Hello BP!

I am wondering if anyone can help me find a method of finding a small multifamily property in the Owasso area. I recently started working there so I want to buy my first househacking property with an FHA loan. Any advice on great real estate agents or wholesalers that focus on this area will be very helpful.

Advice on lenders will be helpful too!

Thanks!
