@Jesse Hyder

I have worked hard to get out of the paycheck to paycheck scenario, that's why I am reluctant to go that direction.

I am willing to live in the multifamily, but I am not so certain my wife is.

I am also willing to move anywhere around the Salt Lake / Provo area. A commute is a commute as far as I am concerned.

We currently live in a small SFH and am looking to move into a larger home to accomidate our four children. I see having two options:

1) Purchase a larger home which will in turn take more of my income from my corporate job to pay the mortgage, but make my wife happy. This option is doable, but we will then be living more paycheck to paycheck instead of creating savings each month.

2) Stay put and invest in a multi-family property (haven't found yet). By staying put the mortgage would be lower on my current home versus a larger home thus allowing me to maybe get another property quicker.

Thoughts?

@Trevor Thompson, The first thing I would like to do is rent the house I am currently living in. We have outgrown the house and will be moving into another one. From there I would like to find a small mulit-family property.

Hello,

My name is Lync Jones and I am a newbie from Lehi, Utah.

I currently work in Salt Lake City as a System Administrator. I have been working in the corporate world for 10+ years.

I have a desire to own my own business and create a lifestyle where I can spend more time with my family while still working hard. I am looking to start my real estate career as a buy and hold investor.
