Hi @Bo Thompson and welcome to BP. I agree, 2015 is going to be a great year!

I have been listening to the BP Podcast and have vowed to get more involved on the site an the local REIA's.

Good luck in your investing.

Welcome to the forum!

I am in the same boat as you as I just built a new home and turned my other primary residence into my first rental property. I am currently reading Brandon Turner's book on no and low money down as @Skyler Smith  suggested as I am also looking for ways to come up with a down payment on my next propery.

Good luck in your efforts.

Start listening to the Bigger Pockets Podcast if you haven't already. Josh and Brandon do a great job of brining in great guests for all different aspects of real estate. At the end of every show they have the famous four that have plenty of book recommendations to learn about real estate and business in general.

Hello fellow investors from Utah,

I started investing midway through 2014 by moving and turning my old home into my first SFR. I now plan to do some networking and was wondering about the local REIA's. I live in Eagle Mountain, but work in Salt Lake.

My rental is in Lehi so I thought about joining the UVREIA, but with working in Salt Lake I thought it would be easy to hit the meetings on lunch break or after work.

Any suggestions?

I plan on getting more involved on the forums, attending local REIA's, and making contacts with others in my area.

Thanks @Holly Baldwin I will pass this on to my wife. I appreciate the perspective from a woman's point of view.

Also, congratulations on the purchase of your first SFR!

Thanks guys for all of your comments. Very useful information.

@Gary Parker what did you mean by Sub2? I am trying to get my education and get up to speed, but that one is new to me.

@Travis Fisher

Great idea Travis! I was wondering how to get the best out of both worlds, a place big enough for the family, but still have rental income.
