There is a name to that type of bank but I forgot how it's called.

 The hell? At what price point is this?

I have found great talent through CL in terms of remodeling, you just have to know how to talk to them to weed out the junk. I think my OCD helps in this regard. Alot of crap, but 5-10% are incredible value and even long term contacts who I give a lot of work to.

For renting, well, no, and it's on you for even trying that route.

Will the method work for a commercial unit such as 30 +?

If so, any opinions shall I pursue ?

 When you say 8-10 hours, do you mean by car? Wouldn't you just take a plane for the occasional visits... time is money.

I have always used wire transfers when dealing with vendors, but how is my credit impacted if I pay a $20k order on a credit card , then pay it off immediately?

The dremel. I think it's $40, but you can get an add on with all kinds of stuff for around $75. It is incredibly useful.

When in doubt, google!

Might be 10-15 recent threads with standard information on this.

Out of curiosity, what was the monthly utility bill average for each of the last 24 months?

Glad it got straighted out, John. Could I ask you to try to explain what it was, for regular readers and DIYers in the forums to have a better idea?

I suspect, given what you described of the situation, that someone used a stainless-steel quick-connect gas hose kit to put in your range and didn't use pipe dope, or thread sealant, in the installation. This is, sadly, rather common. But it could easily have been something else.

This is PART OF IT. It's a brand new yellow gas flex lines, that was attached to an existing line that goes to the main valve (that control gas coming into or out of stove). The main valve is fine, but this existing line from the stove to the main is about 4 feet long - it goes under tile and is likely in bad shape - needs to be updated to prevent future issues. Pipe dope or sealant would have solved the issue with the gas flex line but, from a structural POV, it wouldn't have alerted me to replacing the line that goes from the stove to the main.

I don't know yet if everything can be solved with pipe dope, the 4 ft line can be fished out or tile will have to be broken to go those 4 feet to the main line. When he turned off the valve of gas going to only the stove there was nothing detected anywhere.

@Lynnette E.

@Karl B.

Thank you! I called the energy company, they treated it as an emergency, and I met them at the place immediately. He detected the exact location of the leak and it solved a previous mystery as to why the pro I hired previously didn't find it. Minor, but still something I'd want to take care of. It came down to the negligence of upgrading an appliance when the property was managed using a property management company and I was not the owner.

Pro used that (along with the bubble soap test) and didn't find anything. Maybe try another guy?

I do not smell nor does male tenant and his wife has not moved in yet from out of state. His realtor was at home helping him move in stuff to prepare place and said she smelt gas. We could not smell it, but I put my head under stove and smelt something like gas that was quite light. I didn't know if it was normal or not, but I got pros out to check. Did bubble foam test and infrared test and found nothing from gas lines to stove , or in the gas water heaters. Took their time , I pay extra for safety related issues.

Realtor once again smelt it yesterday. I'm not sure how to proceed, are there gas leak detection specialists I can call? More advanced technology? It's something I want to get to the bottom of whether realtor is sensitive to it or not.
