@Dan H. Thank you for your suggestions, my first thoughts were to stay local for the first couple properties. Like I said before, the price of the homes are a bit intimidating. I see you are located in Poway. Do you invest in the area? Id like to chat more if you have some time!

@Lydia Ford. I grew up in Aventura so I am familiar with the surrounding areas. I also feel that there might still be some good investments there. Im referring to Cash generating multifamily homes. What do you do?

Hi All,
My name is Jeremy, I am new to Real estate investing, and to be honest, I don't even know where to start. I am somewhat diversified as I have other investments however I have money sitting and have always wanted to get in to real estate. I feel confident that now is that time. I have considered buying rental properties, but the housing prices on San Diego county are absurd. I am contemplating buying multi family homes in south Florida, as that is where I am from and I would have some assistance with my properties there. I have also considered "flipping" however I don't have the capital to buy homes outright nor do I have the experience. I am here to build relationships and to learn while helping others. I should add that I am still renting myself but can't decide if I should spend my capital on a home for my wife I or invest it out of San Diego where the money will go alot further. Any advice is greatly appreciated. If anyone is in the San Diego area and want to meet up, feel free to contact me.
Excited to be apart of the community, thank you guys at BP for what you have going here!

Congrats man!! Thats so awesome. I am looking to get into my first deal sooner rather then later. Were you scared? I'm still int he phase where all of it seems daunting. Financing being one and finding the right deal. When did you become confident that the deal you were making was a good deal? I've got the bug and what to get my feet wet but don't want to rush into anything if its not the right deal.
Anyway, wish you the best of luck
Jeremy

@Brent M. Im thinking of doing the same. SoCal's market is just too expensive for a novice investor like my self. Are you buying turnkey properties? Would you mind talking with me a bit to help put the distance fears aside?

Hey Billy,
First off, I want to say thanks for writing this post. It touched home with me, and made me feel like I'm not the only one struggling with the SoCal Struggle! Im happy to hear that your journey into real estate has gone smoothly! I am located in San Diego, and I find myself getting discouraged by the prices here in San Diego. Im going through the same " How the heck am I going to buy real estate?". I am contemplating buying in other, more affordable markets. I listened to the podcast with David Greene. It was really inspiring, however I still find myself at a roadblock. It sounds like you would recommend buying a turn key property to get my feet wet. Any other suggestions that can help make the idea less intimidating?
