@Neetu Nagi I try to stay within the outer belt. I avoid D locations and below and look for the areas bordering large institutions with growth. Areas near Ohio State University campus are solid (Old North, Clintonville, Worthington), Nationwide (short north arts district, Italian Village, Victorian Village, Grandview), Nationwide Children’s Hospital (German Village, Schumacher Place, Merion Village, Southern Orchards, Old Town East, Franklin Park, Bexley, king Lincoln, Near East Side). Happy to discuss further if you have interest. Best of luck!

@Sippy Hira I agree with @Erik Hatch. Look for obvious signs of growth and opportunity. Midwest markets are a great spot for beginning investments as well. Indianapolis, Columbus, etc. I live here in the Midwest and it’s booming! Good luck!

@Adam Myers welcome! BP is a fantastic resource—do yourself a favor and utilize it as much as possible. Everyone on here was new to REI at one point or another and it's a great community to learn and grow from. I'm in the Columbus, Ohio market and am loving it. Great investment opportunities with a lot of room to grow! Good luck and let me know if I can help!

@Neetu Nagi you should consider Columbus, OH. Major market contributors are igniting this market (home of The Ohio State University (and medical center), Nationwide, Big Lots, L Brands, Cardinal Health). Large companies are flooding our market (Google, Facebook, Cover My Meds, and more). Great opportunity zones and a thriving job market and economy. Worth a look! Best of luck!

@Cara Oden the longer you hold off, the harder it gets to jump. Could even be worth considering a lower risk option to jump into like a short-term rental to get your feet wet.

@Joe Moffett I second Columbus, Ohio as I am heavily vested in the market here personally. The market is on fire right now and we’re seeing major brands flooding our market (Google, Facebook) and other major national brands are already headquartered here (Nationwide, Cardinal Health, Big Lots, L Brands, Ohio State, and more). Columbus has been dishing out a lot of incentives to national brands to attract them and its working. And even better, year over year we’re seeing the city retain its talent from the dozens of colleges in Columbus and surrounding suburbs. Columbus is no longer a college town, it’s a burgeoning city! Worth a look!

@Ligaya Bales that is an extremely high price simply to evict someone. There’s really not much to an eviction. I found an attorney for $125 (covers the court docs and him appearing in court) plus the $136 filing fee with the state and he was fantastic (I’m pretty sure he just lines these things up and does a handful each week—easy $). Don’t overpay unless there is a complicated aspect to the eviction. I would definitely encourage you to shop around.

@Chad Kolinsky interesting. What is the process for something like that? How can I go about researching an option/what should I be looking for? Thanks for the insight!
