You can google Utah REIA, Salt Lake REIA, Utah Valley REIA. Their main monthly meetings and luncheons or other meet ups will be on their websites. I host the downtown luncheon for SLREIA on the third Friday of each month at Legends Sports Grill in SLC. You can find that on the Events page on my website, along with any other webinar or event that I am teaching at. So that is always a good place to start.

Thanks for the shout out @Ryan E.! Hopefully one day we will meet. You should take my seller financing classes, you'll learn a lot with vastly different opinions. Most of them are free on my website.

But yes, I am an investor, attorney, escrow officer and HM lender. I work with thousands of investors here in UT and throughout the US. I am on the board of a couple of REIAs and active in all of them.

Ryan E. has great advice. I would also highly suggest attending the REIAs and their luncheons. We are lucky to have a number of really great ones here. There is Salt Lake REIA, Utah REIA, Utah Valley REIA and Northern Utah REIA. They have monthly meetings and free lunches. I host the Salt Lake REIA downtown luncheon on the third Friday of every month at Legends Sports Grill on 200 West and 700 South. There is great networking with other investors who have done a ton of mailings. There are guys spending up to $40K per month on them. But you should spend the money wisely.

If there's anything else you might need, just contact me at the office.

All investors. We have spent the summer working with the division about wholesaling and licensing. We now have more concrete information. You may not like it. But it is extremely important to know. Because SO MANY investors are trying get into wholesaling right now, the more that do it incorrectly will make it worse for everyone else. The Division is taking a hard line because they are seeing a lot of complaints. I can't explain everything in a post, so I'm doing a free, live event on Wed Oct 17 to go over everything. You can call the office to get registered. It's also on the store on our website under the Live Events tab. We hope to see you there. Bring your questions!

Not yet. We are still working with the DRE and it will probably be early fall before we have anything more definitive. There is some good, general advice on my website from last year, but we won't know more specifics until later. There is no where to research as of now. Even clients being reviewed by the division are getting different takes. That' s why they are trying to lock it down. Sorry, you'll just have to be patient.

The irrevocable trust isn't usually an estate planning tool. It is different than a family living trust (revocable) used for estate planning purposes. We rarely use irrevocable trusts even in asset protection of real estate (they don't function in a way that meets most clients' needs).

All good advice. While BP has great info, there is no substitute for local information from local investors! We have MANY REIAs that are fantastic educational and networking opportunities! Utah Valley REIA is in Orem. You can web search them and the ones up in SL County, or I can put you in touch. We are also happy to chat with you about the ins and outs of getting started. Just let us know!

Wholesaling in Utah is becoming a little more complicated, especially on the documentation and marketing the contract side of things. I would recommend getting in touch with me for a brief review and I can get you linked in to our upcoming webinars related to wholesaling and Utah licensing issues. Jumping in before really understanding the issues can, as Blair pointed out, land you in hot water

Aaron, your vetting should be the same as most other professionals.  how long in the biz, number of transactions, what types of commercial do they specialize in, what size ($) properties, personal experience in real estate, other licensing, and etc. I would also have conversations with other real estate investors doing commercial deals and pick their brains. I do some commercial conversions, and have clients who do multiplexes. Let me know if you need anything.

Monica, the best way to get started it to attend local Real Estate investor Association meetings. We have 4 really good organizations. Northern Utah REIA, Salt Lake REIA, Utah REIA and Utah Vally REIA. They are run by local people and are great networking and education opportunities. If you want to chat a few minutes, you can give the office a call and we can go over some of the legal needs to get started in real estate investing. It's a great way to make money.

Happy investing!
