As somebody who is new to REIA, I would like to get out there and start networking while learning about my local market as a whole.

From those of you from the Metro NJ/NY area, are there any REIA's that you would recommend?

Hey everyone, I am currently 27 and am just starting as well. Currently working a full time job so I'm a little nervous about how to handle REI as I move forward, but I can say that I am really excited too.

I'm getting my RE License in a couple weeks (if all things go to plan), and hopefully I can use that platform to really start understanding the market, network, and then save some money and purchase a duplex/multiplex home within the next year via FHA as many have mentioned above.

Hello Bigger Pockets family!

My name is James Nam, and I am a young (I heard from a BP podcast that 'young' is anything under 40 years old so I'll go with that, haha) to-be investor from NJ. I've been looking into REI for a while now, but was always turned off by unrealistic expectations set by other REI sites; that is, until I found BP. I started off slowly with some articles, then got hooked on the podcasts, and lo and behold... am now posting my first post on the forum!

I am definitely excited to join the BP community -- even my meager two weeks of being on this site has given me more information than I can chew and I've learned so much more from BP than all the other websites I've read combined. 

My biggest incentive to building a RE Portfolio is so that I can augment my current income and hopefully build stability for my parents as they are now steadily but surely looking over the edge to retirement, as well as other family and friends (and of course, help myself in the future as well!). 

Glad to be here! I hope to be acquainted with you all soon!
