@Ryan Verbist congrats! Excited and happy for you and your friend.

You are young so everything that comes your way may be appealing or attractive. The hardest part for you right now is determine your main focus and keep on that track. Don't get sidetracked.

Reverse engineer your financial and end goals. For instance, where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now. Now break that down in steps from then to now.

Good luck and happy investing!

I have several businesses and keep them separate.

Good luck and happy investing!

@Logan Jamieson nice job with your current position.

All depends on what you are seeking to do. Are you seeking to invest your capital? Are you seeking to be active and manage these assets on your own?

You mentioned a few options so it seems like your not clear on exactly what you want. Few are suggesting syndication investing and that could ideally be the right path for you. To know that, you want to determine how active or passive you want to be.

You have a GC business and can force appreciate value in your own investment, which is a huge advantage. Again, it all depends on what you want to do.

Last thing to consider if you are active, would you be creating another job for yourself?

Happy investing!

@Molly Murphy love your goals.

If you are looking to move from one job to another (like many others have stated) consider hiring a mentor. You want to build a syndication business and not make the mistakes you would going at it alone. A mentor would help mitigate all of that.

Now if your goal is to retire and do what you want, when you want. Calculate what your cost of living would be and invest till you get those returns. Of course, you would need to have the capital to fast track that in 2 years.

Happy investing! 🙏🏽

@Yulia Minina congrats on your vision and plans. Hope you achieve them and live your dreams.

You want to consider how passive or hands on you want to be. If you can determine that, then you can then narrow down your options.

For instance, if your goal is to be completely passive then you want to consider passive investments such as multifamily syndications.

But if you want to be completely hands on, you can flip houses, purchase a duplex and so on with other options.

Just depends on your direct focus.

@Stuart Chinworth if you find a deal that would help you get into deals.

Also it's good to have networked and built relationships prior to finding the deal. The whole chicken and the egg thing.

@Seung Oh the biggest difference I can think of with SF homes and investing in a syndication is how active do you want to be? If you want total control and deal with everything in between then go the SF home route. Now if you want to be passive and be informed what is going on with the project and not have to make any decisions besides be updated and monitor your returns, then syndication is the path.

@Holly Williams did a great job explaining the REIT.

This is awesome @Dan Handford, I used to talk myself out of stuff all the time because of "version none" was better than incomplete "version one" totally flipped the scripted on it now.

Congrats! Good work and thank you for sharing. Very inspiring. I'm noticing a ton of development opportunities around my hometown. What would be the one thing you would need to know before developing besides the demand? Or better yet, what would be the one thing to look out for while developing?
