Welcome @Keenan Freker! You might read BP's Ultimate Beginner's Guide here on the website. It's free and easy to read and gives you a great foundation and lay of the land. I'm a beginner myself and have found this community to be wonderful. 

My landlord installed airvents that I can open and close so it allowed me to close the vents in the rooms I don't use much like the bathroom and direct the heat to more central areas and that brought down my heating bill.

Hi @Account Closed, thanks for responding! I will try multi-family. I can't remember if I did that or not but felt like it was leading me to a bunch of apartments so I was not able to limit the search to duplexes, etc. But let me doublecheck that.

Is there a box to check (or a way to search) on Redfin or Zillow to bring up properties in search results that are duplexes/triplexes/fourplexes? I haven't been able to find a way (or find this topic discussion in the forums).
