Great plan! Uptown New Orleans for myself but I've been working with First-Time Homebuyers who have been open to anywhere!

Hey Kevin,

Good post! I'm just starting out myself. Hope to get good advice from this discussion! I've heard a good idea would be to target a specific area. Are you looking to target just Slidell areas or are you non-specific?

I love reading stories like this! As a Realtor, it makes me excited about you investing in Real Estate and it also gives me the motivation I need to continue forward with my rehab goals! Great read!

Did you bunker in with your parents, ate noodles, and lived on a strict budget while you worked & saved up to pay for it all on your own, did you save for a down payment and worked with a lender, did you find a Zero out-of-pocket lender or program? How did you go about funding your first flip?

Thanks for the advice @Will Barnard! My husband had experience working with installing sheetrock, floors, etc a lot after Katrina and I plan to paint and do a lot of hands on things myself, so we'll definitely be involved! Are you come across a lot of private lenders, reconstruction loans or rehab programs that are great for beginners?
