Haha wow thanks so much @Chris Mason ! Much appreciated! I'll have to call around and make something happen. I'm sure it won't be that difficult to refi while overseas since I bought the house initially while in Hawaii. Thanks again!

Thanks @Tyler Hodgson, I shot some emails out and looking at what my options are there, I think we're at about 90% LTV so getting close, thanks for the idea!

Hi @Chris Mason thanks for the help. She wasn't working at the time but is now working full time for the past 6 months, maybe better to just see if she can qualify?

She is just paying most of the mortgage and insurance, but I haven't been claiming it as "income". I have an accountant here and I  mentioned the situation but now I'm worried that Im supposed to be claiming that amount?

HI all, just had a question about some refinance options. I currently own a home that my mother is living in, and while she's covering most of the mortgage my interest rate is very high (nearly 5%) due to a mistake on my credit report at the time of purchase.

I'm currently living in Hawaii but moving overseas in a few short weeks (the home is owned FHA as a secondary residence) and with a credit rating in the high 700's I'd definitely like a lower rate.

Anyone have any clever recommendations? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

I think that's our answer, as tough as it is to wait, I think it's probably best to wait until I'm in the same state and can oversee things, at least in the early stages. I'm seeing plenty of places on offer due to the landlord/owner moving out of state, let alone overseas lol.

If you hear anything otherwise though please let me know, and good luck! @Tom MacDonald

Hi everyone, new investor. I own one property in Oklahoma but my mother is living there so not really an investment. I'm going to visit her (I'm living in Hawaii) in about a month and will stay for one week.

I have a lump sum of cash on hand and would definitely love to get it into a REI deal and start generating some income however I'll be pressed for time since after that week I'll be moving overseas for 2 years!

My aunt there just turned 98 but still shows houses weekly for her real estate company, I'm just not really sure how involved she still is due to age and everything.

My question being:

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any recommendations on what to do here? I'd just hate to let the cash depreciate while I'm living overseas and while playing that other markets has somewhat paid out in the past it's not really for me (stock etc).

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Jay
