Investing while overseas?
Hi everyone, new investor. I own one property in Oklahoma but my mother is living there so not really an investment. I'm going to visit her (I'm living in Hawaii) in about a month and will stay for one week.
I have a lump sum of cash on hand and would definitely love to get it into a REI deal and start generating some income however I'll be pressed for time since after that week I'll be moving overseas for 2 years!
My aunt there just turned 98 but still shows houses weekly for her real estate company, I'm just not really sure how involved she still is due to age and everything.
My question being:
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any recommendations on what to do here? I'd just hate to let the cash depreciate while I'm living overseas and while playing that other markets has somewhat paid out in the past it's not really for me (stock etc).
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Jay

Hello there Jamison, we currently have 17 properties in Oklahoma City. We used to live there but since we work for the government we had to leave in 2012 . At the time we had 11 properties but have bought all the others sight unseen since. We have seen them now but this was after they were purchased.
Find yourself a realtor to set you up on a feed from the MLS that way you will see all new properties as soon as they become available. If your Aunt can't or doesn't want to do that I can give you my realtors information. The other important part for me is a good property manager if you don't have someone there can find tenants, make minor repairs etc. I actually met my current manager on Bigger Pockets and can give you his details too. He is also a realtor. I am currently looking for house #18.
We are currently in DC but spent the first 2 years in Italy so it is very possible. Good luck.
