Aloha and welcome! I'm just down the way in Kapolei. It sounds like you have some great goals and BP is a good place to get started. I just found the boards a few days ago and wish I knew about them when I began. This place is a wealth of good information.

Hey Eric, I know this thread is pretty old now, but did you have any luck with investment properties? I have used Auben and been pretty happy with them.

Sure @Michael Borger, I probably should have been a little more specific in my intro post. I prefer a SFH in the triangle between Kapolei/Makakilo over to Pearl City, and North to Mililani. I would like to stay in the $500-600k range as well, unless there is an amazing deal on a property.

I moved to Oahu, Hawaii last year and I recently found Bigger Pockets. Just like most of you reading this, I wish I had found BP years ago. The wealth of information here is amazing!

I moved here from Georgia where I had several deals, and continue to have one rental property. I am "experienced" but I know that there is always more to learn from everyone. In my profile I mention that I am a part-time real estate investor and that is because I love working as a software developer.

My primary interest is buy and hold properties and I am in the market to occupy a property with 3/4 bedrooms right now. I am a veteran and would prefer to be able to use a VA loan, but would also be willing to pick up a place that needed work if it didn't meet the VA standards. Please feel free to message me if are reading this and know of a place that might fit my needs.

I would enjoy meeting other investors on Oahu and wish everyone the best.

Hey everyone, a little late to the post but I'm in Kapolei and would like to meet other investors as well. I am also actively looking for a property right now that I could use either a VA loan or a conventional loan if any of you have something available.
