Quote from @Jorge Newbery:

This is Jorge Newbery from AHP and I just received a Google Alert bringing me to this thread. Some quick updates:

1. We are planning our next investment update webinar for Tuesday, January 23rd at 1pm CT. If you are an AHP investors, expect an invite soon. Counsel handling the litigation which was discussed in December will be joining.

Hi,

Usually I'll get an invite a few days before the webinar, but so far nothing.  Is this still planned for tomorrow?

Thanks,
James

Yeah its disappointing.  I was wondering a few months ago when he mentioned some difficulty getting the loans back from the lender, after they initially paid it back. (What was going on?).

Though it seem like Murphy is hitting them with a vengeance, thought my confidence in them is less  now.  (It reminds me of a tenanant that I had difficulty with.... they always had murphy show up to mess with them)

I have about 12k invested, its been long enough that they have paid back about half.  (but in theory I should get the original back too).

I'm in a similar situation.  I used a lawyer and I think everything was done correctly.  After going via the JP the evication was granted.  There was an appeal and again the eviction was granted.  Now we have a THIRD appeal.   The lawyer says this level of appeal hardly ever happens and I need to go to a lawyer who is experienced in handling casrs before the appeals court.   Its dragged on for so long... Any recomendations?

(Central Texas).

Not yet, we had to hunt down who did the foundation work.  Since my mom had passed away, it was a little challenging, I only discovered a few days ago that they company appears to have shutdown.

(According to their web site they were around for 35 years, so I think they where probably reliable)

Thanks

I use a service Five Stone Tax Advisors, they will file an appeal for you.  If they are successful it is about 1/3 of the amount saved, if they aren't then their is no fee.

Hi

I inherited a house 2 years ago.  (I'm very far away).  The tenant has reported some cracks and the Property Manager thinks it might need some foundation work.

Apparently my mom had the foundation repaired many years ago.  We think it was done by Austin Foundation, their website says they have a lifetime guarantee, but it also says they shutdown about 4 years ago.  (After 35 years of service).

Does anyone know if Austin Foundation Repair is still around in some way? (Or if they arranged with another company to handle their clients?)

Thanks

James

A while back I found this Video which seems to cover a lot of the details about Texas Tax Sales:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Wwom4YttJI

Hope it helps.

(Disclaimer:  I don't have anything to do with the producer of the video, just something I found online a while back).

(Buying a property at a tax sale has always interested me, especially the idea of getting a really good deal)

You might look at American Home Owner Preservation.  (www.ahpfund.com).   The current fund is advertising 12%, but it will close May 24th.

(I found them first and that's what made we aware of the potential in investing in Notes)

If you find any other funds, please share.
