I am in the process of a divorce; we have been together for 15 years. I made an awesome deal about 7 years ago to purchase a home in San Marcos Ca. I want to buy her out, but she wants to sell it to anybody but me! The house needs a little bit of work, and I should do a quick remodel. I really want to buy her equity so kids can stay in same area and kids have told her that they want to stay. She disagrees and wants to sell to anyone but me! I am going to be a real estate investor I have been studying real estate the last few years. I have lots of ideas and I am a carpenter by trade, I have done real estate inspections for about 4 years, and I did have my contractor's license, but I let it expire all because I put faith in my soon to be ex-wife! I have almost 25 years' experience in remodeling and building. Most of my work has been residential with a little commercial. We owe 400k on the house and is worth 800k. If I buy i could rent out room 1k/month and build a tiny home in the backyard 2k/month. Or do i sell and take the (200k) money and start my REI journey!
