Hey John, I'm born and raised right in Dutchess County. I currently live in Lagrange. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, if you're looking for fixer-upper properties or turn-key properties, but I know of a 2 family property that may be of some interest to you. SF Home, Detached garage with upstairs apartment, garage units both being rented as well. Located in East Fishkill area with roughly 10% cap rate. If not, I'd love to talk more about what you've been seeing in the markets and what you're looking for. @Dan Barman is right about Beacon and Poughkeepsie. I would have to say I've seen a much larger scale revitalization effort in Poughkeepsie than I have across the river in Newburgh. Lots of new development going on.

Hi Everyone! My name is Jake Garay, I'm a new member to the BiggerPockets Forums. I currently live in Dutchess County, New York, about an hour north of NYC.
My background and beginnings in real estate comes from my family. My father has been a general contractor and real estate investor for over 30 years, so that is what I grew up in. Personally, I am a licensed Realtor in the State of New York, and am the CEO and Founder of Realty Resolutions, a real estate investment company that right now focuses on Dutchess, Westchester, Putnam, and Orange County. I also am part owner of Olde Stone Kitchens & Flooring, and have done some design work in the past. **If you're an investor, we give big discounts specifically to investors on kitchen/ bathroom cabinets, countertops, tile, hardwood and laminate flooring, as well lighting fixtures.** I also have a background in sales, having once led a sales team of roughly 600 people.
My hope and intention with joining the BiggerPockets community is to be able to meet some really great people, help out in whichever way, shape, or form that I can, and hopefully continue to learn!
