Post: Home Inspector Path

Hi all. Couldn’t find anything covering this topic. Just curious if anyone has any experience getting into real estate investing via becoming a home inspector and kind of grasping the field. I am a recent college graduate, working in the manufacturing industry as an EHS Specialist. The home inspector that I used when I bought my home had a similar background. One of my questions is where do I start? I keep seeing conflicting information about it in PA so if anyone can provide more guidance, awesome! I also have stumbled across a guy on TikTok (I know, I know) who claims he got into real estate investing by developing relationships by completing inspections for investors and essentially picking their brains on the business side of things. Any type of information helps! Thank you in advance

Post: Student Rentals in Western PA

Ever since I went to IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), I would constantly browse around to look at house prices & compare it to what the average student was paying. The area is extremely poor so houses are cheap (<$90,000). This has been something that I have thought about for an extensive time and while I haven't done lots of research, I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction of books to read or podcasts to listen to about the good and bad of student rentals. Obviously you have the potential for a kid destroying your house but I just feel as though the upside potential is huge. Any input/past experiences would be excellent. Thank you all, Jake

Hi everyone,

I am 22 years old. I just graduated college last May with no student debt. I just recently landed a job that will pay $50,000 annually. I am hoping in the next 3-5 years that will increase to about $70,000. I am currently living with my parents with no expenses month to month. My current savings is next to nothing. I am hoping that someone that is seasoned in the investing world will help me out with what they would/would have done if they were in my situation. I originally heard of the ideas of section 8 housing and in my area I feel that the market is strong. I also considered commercial real estate such as storage units. Any information would help, I am just a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities out there. Thank you in advance, Jake
