@Justin G. I have read 2 and working on the others! I am making the shift from single family to multifamily. I just got involved in a paid mentorship program with a goal to complete my first co-GP syndication within 6 months!!!! So exciting!!!

@Bevan Daniels I often feel the same way. Most of my family and friends are solely W2 earners. A lot of times I genuinely want to share the fruits of my REI labor; paying for friends' dinners/outings, etc but I then feel guilty when they start to feel like they can't reciprocate. It creates a weird dynamic.

I also sometimes feel guilty about discussing my future goals and dreams ( passive cashflow number, winter home in the Caribbean and jet-set lifestyle). They seem completely out of reach to many of my friends and family. I can recall someone saying to me recently "Remember to be grateful that you have a home to live in!" 🙄 I understand where this person was coming from but I really don't think my ambition to succeed and become rich has anything to do with being less than grateful for what I have. In fact, It is because I am grateful for what I have that I want to be a good steward! I have every desire to give to others and see them succeed as well! Wealth through investing is obviously a completely different mindset and it is hard to translate to those that are not there with you. I am hopeful that as we continue upward on this path we all will find others who resonate on the same level!!! ….. At that point, we can visit each other's oceanfront homes and ride on each other's planes and talk REI to our heart's content!!! 😁

@Brandon Miles I am planning on going next year! In my opinion, The Real Estate Guys’ education stuff has been very legit. I went to their Create Your Future Goals retreat earlier this year and it was fabulous! ‘Tons of smart and successful investors involved with them!

@Daniel Casey I have successfully borrowed and then returned a loan taken from my retirement account when I was starting out. I have also borrowed from family (parents' HELOC) for a 3-6 month period and paid them back plus 10% interest.

Also, if you have found a good deal you could partner with a more seasoned investor and split the profits. I did that on my very first property.

@John S Lewis I have used TurboTenant for my advertising and tenant screening for almost 2 years now and I’ve been very happy with them. Easy platform to use on mobile devices and I also like that I can view applications before I ask for background checks. This makes it easy to pretty much decide who you’re renting to before you have them pay the $35 fee for screening. You can also turn on an automated pre-screening questionnaire that is sent to every lead. Hope this helps!

@Victor Ayala Thank you for the info you have shared! I am very interested in buying vacation rentals in PR; probably looking to buy within the next few years. I visited the island in 2017 and absolutely loved it! I would really love to live down there someday, at least for the winters!

Do you find that most vacation rental investment is in condos? I have mixed feelings on condos and at this point I am more interested in single family homes. I could see though where management may be more challenging. ‘Just wondering if buying SF is doable for vacation rental purposes? Thanks again!
