Did anyone happen to check his I.D. at the door? I heard he has an indonesian passport.

Either way I'm tired of people being put to sleep by his words and not listening to what he's saying. Don't just accept what Obama and the media says. If you listen to his words with your brain awake you might be shocked. He works for the people, not the other way around. Remember that. Demand the best for your future and economy with or without his help.

Who cares who's to blame...now that we find ourselves here who is going to solve the problem?

Seems to me risky mortgage debts packaged on stock markets, sliced diced and priced (since no one knows what they're buying anymore), the slightest natural recession which we were due for, knocked these mortgages over like a stack of bad debt dominoes. What would have been a minor recession and foreclosure crisis became more because of a system that was too easy to get credit that people couldn't really afford. The economy is not the problem, parts within the system are, which affected the economy.

As far as Obama, recommending to spend $3 Trillion after telling everyone he was going to fix the economy, tells me he doesn't know how to balance budgets, or create wealth, only use the system to move money around as he pleases (irresponsible spending). Whose money is it? his or the American people's?

"A government trying to tax and spend its way to prosperity is equivalent to a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle." -Winston Churchill

Do you think Obama is going to fix the economy? He's a politician, not a business person or wealth creator.

Rather than blame game (big distraction), I'd like to see some positive action and people taking responsibility to move things in the right direction. This is not an unsolveable problem. But if we all roll over and play dead, it may become that.

Re: selling land to other countries. Just don't sell off all the energy companies, or you'll be at the mercy of foreigners for what you pay for energy. Ontario's got a bit of paranoia about buying energy from Quebec, here in Canada.

How much do people pay for education? $10K+?
$10K x 100K people = $1 BIL :)

What about exporting in general? Every product made and sold in USA could be sold in many countries if not already.

Maybe we should buy land in China and rent it out, that would bring in foreign income, or buy land in Australia or NZ or Europe or somewhere.

Fix'n'flip in Europe? Japan? (I understand Japan got hit twice as hard as USA in this economic crisis, Europe about the same.)

Who could we sell land to other than China? I'm Canadian and I want to invest in RE myself. Boosting tourism would help, but national security is a big thing with USA, maybe promoting in countries that are part of NATO etc, and pushing educational institutions, Disneyworld, whatever might bring in foreign money?

Selling Obama paraphanalia on Ebay?

Land might do it if we don't mind close neighbours.

It seems our other option is to sell our children into slavery for generations (Obama's plan A).

We should keep this thread going until we think of a huge list of different ways to do this. Not just for country (after all, we ARE the business people), but there are side benefits to making $1 BILLION.

USA population is 300 million
$10,000 each is $3 Trillion

the fastest way I can think of to export anything is get on Ebay and sell something to anywhere other than USA.

Dollar store(s) in China?
Population 1.3 Billion

for that matter a bakery in China, you might get $1/day per local person, hire local labour and pay them wages. Chinese make $3000something/year on average but wide difference between wages. (find it on google)

bookstore, clothing, anything people need or want. since USA is borrowing money from China and has to pay them back it only makes sense to make money off China!! pay it off that way. major trading partner.
