I finally did it, folks. I walked away from Corporate America, 2 weeks shy of my 30th birthday! I haven't been active on BP for the past several months primarily because my wife and I welcomed our first beautiful baby girl into this world and I've been busy with projects.
My story is a little different - my business's revenue is primarily generated by restaurants that we own, but the same principles that BP advocates I've applied to grow that business as well. I opened my first restaurant 2 years ago, the 2nd one 6 months after that, and am currently building my 3rd - set to open in September. During that period of time I held onto my Corporate job so that I didn't have to take any money from the business and could bootstrap its growth. Finally, on June 9th I stepped away from the day job, and am able to pay myself a meager salary from the business - but more importantly I now have the freedom to structure my days so that I can be a part of my baby girl's life!
During that period we've also invested in rental property and have started building spec homes in the Charlotte market.
I am so grateful for everything that BP has given me over the years in terms of knowledge and connections and I cannot stress enough how vital BP has been to the small amount of success I've achieved thus far. Let me say that if you're on the fence, the PRO membership is worth every penny, and far more!
If you're new to this game, network network network! When I started investing in real estate, I didn't know any investors in the Charlotte market, so I did what many members on BP recommend - I started my own REI meetup, and the connections I've made have been invaluable both in business and as friendships.
Cheers friends, and THANK YOU ALL for the knowledge you so selflessly share with this great community!
