Looking for an experienced contractor familiar with all facets of construction to demolish a property and build a 2- family home from the ground up. I recently acquired a property that needs extensive work and would like to partner with a contractor to go 50/50 on building and flipping a house in Providence, R.I.

Can someone tell me the different legal steps that are part of foreclosing in a property since the lawyer files the case until the foreclosure is done?  Does this process changes drastically from State to State or is similar in all the 50 States?

Thanks BP community!

Dawn

13. Harlem near St. Nicolas and 125th (New York)

Zip code 10027.  This is definetly not a dangerous area anymore.  As a matter of fact is very desirable with nice restaurant around and skyrocket rents.

I'm attaching a link from Google/maps for all to see how the area looks like:   https://www.google.com/maps/place/Saint+Nicholas+Ave+%26+W+125th+St,+New+York,+NY+10027/@40.810783,-73.952593,3a,75y,183.69h,81.02t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sNTsX4GSZvMemwnlSwZnLaA!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c2f66cba371c87:0x5752aec009122683!6m1!1e1

Further west there is an are with 2 large public housing projects that have caused a little trouble to NYPD for gang related activity.  I bike every Saturday around 6:30 to 7 am on the way to a pool to swim.  It is quiet at that time no people lying down on the streets drunk or high like I heard used to be in the 70s and 80s.

If one is able to successfully foreclose on a Tax lien, ALL Mortagages are wipped out.  However, back taxes must be paid either by the tax lien holder or they are sold at subsequent options and you loose your right to redemption, as the junior taxholder can redeem to you and get out of the game.

Hi Al!

Welcome to the site!

You already took a step in the right direction by coming to this site. I would join the advise of others in this post and say, second: Get educated.  BP has a ton of material to help you achieve this step starting with the free beginners guide to RE.

Regarding your third question: I'd like to suggest to check Brandon Turner's book

The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down

Good luck!!

Gino,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with the rest of us in this forum!

I'll keep my eyes on those areas that you recommend.

Happy investing!
