Hi! Looking for recommendations for a RE attorney in IL. Preferably near Naperville. Our personal home has an offer and we do not want to make any mistakes. This is our first time selling in IL and do not know what we do not know. Thank you all for recommendations, and those to stay clear of.

@Chris Mury  Thank you. Think I'm going to have to give them a try also. Just a bit leary of learning a new program when the one I'm on is driving me crazy. Another question: how do you send your cleaners the schedule? I thought I had it set up correctly in porter but my cleaners said the way they receive it is too confusing so we went back to screen shots. Till that calendar went away also :-/

@Cliff H.  Thank you for the info you gave @Chris Mury  I have been trying to find that myself for sometime. Will give it a try.

Also, are you still using yourporter and have you had any issues with it recently? My view of the properties by the month is gone. I contacted them and they said they just added upgrades and that got deleted but they are working to bring it back. I do not know what those upgrades are.

My nightly rates are not updating even when I raise the minimums. I have to do every night individually. Airbnb and yourporter blamed the other. I've disconnected several times hoping to reset it but no luck.

Wondering if anyone else has the same issues.

@Lauren Pitts Do you still prefer the Igloohome lock for your rentals? We currently use the Schlage wifi with no issues but we are adding a cabin in the middle of nowhere that can not get internet service. Thank you for any suggestions!

@John Williams

Just about everything I know has come from the people above and BP.

If I may add one thing. We have a 2nd home that we have turned into a STR. The area does not have many STR, although they are growing. If this is true of your new location also: Neighbors. Talk to your neighbors ahead of time. Let them know as much as you can to help them feel comfortable. Some neighbors may not mind at all and others may be your 'micro-mangers'.

Although we explain that we want the guests to have fun, as long as they aren't bothering the neighbors, it still comes down to the neighbors live there full time and may have no problem raising their thoughts to the local counsel. We also have guests that mention how lovely it was meeting the wonderful neighbors.

Just a thought if you are in a mainly residential area.

Best wishes!

@Marlen Weber @Mark Johnson @Eric Johnson @Steven W. @Evan Polaski

Thank you all for your help and information on this. We took all the advice and applied it to our situation and found that we were not in the correct business relationship to purchase the property. Many items, but one was that the rehab estimate from professionals was looking at $175k. Our realtor thought it should only be around $20k and did not want to give our counter offer to the seller.

We have now found a realtor who owns properties similar to what we are looking for.

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge.
