Good evening my B.P peeps! So, as I'm heading closer and closer to hopefully buying my first income property, I'm wondering, how do I find developing markets in my state? As I continue my education in real estate investment, I've learned to invest in my "backyard" which is fine, only I don't know exactly where to look? Are there any websites out here that I am able to see where businesses are developing, people are moving to that I could analysis?

Thanks ahead of time!

Good Evening my Bigger Pockets Peeps! So, as a newbie I'm sooo in the education phase of this investing market it's crazy! But as I learn more I'm slowly building up not only my education, but the courage to go ahead and make my first deal. Now, I have a few properties I'm looking at and a few areas, but I'm torn in the decision of how to go about my personal residency...ikr! So, I'm currently living out of state and planning on moving back home in the next year, but I'm torn on whether to rent or just purchase a small home. Now, part of me would think to go ahead and just rent another apt, but that include deposits, dog fees, etc. But another part of me is "trying to think like an investor" and just purchase a home ( for the low) and in a few years turn that into an investment property ( hopefully along with others). I just don't see me purchasing income properties and in-turn paying a landlord for my residence. So, what would you do? Or, what have you done?

Also, I was told mortgagees ( the "30 years " ones) are no no's...how true is that?

Thanks!

Jay Hinrichs OK, so what you're saying is that if I were to purchase property in another state to put that property under an LLC to get it protected? But to be sure to register the property as a foreign property at the Secretary of State?

@Steven Stokes thanks for the information that was very helpful. Every step I take I'm learning more and more about what it takes to be a successful investor, and it's people like you on this site that I'm thankful for. Thanks again!

Good Afternoon my Bigger Pockets people! So, this pass Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending an real estate seminar. You know the one that tries to sell you a class or a product at the end?  ( Are those classes even worth investing into?) Anyway, the person who was presenting made a statement to never put the TITLE of the home in your name. He mention that putting the DEED in you name was O.K., but not the title. And as a newwwwbie into this real estate game, what does he mean by it? He didn't go into detail about what exactly what he meant, but the statement was made. So, could anyone help me understand his reference????

Also,  come to think about it, he referenced I think Rockerfella in saying that, " He's worth a billion, but owns nothing". I'm confused??????

Ok...so first and foremost thanks for the great input. This is my first post and all I was looking for was some input of which I've received from both genders and for that I am grateful. As a woman entering this field I just wanted the input that there were women who are able to do well with investing seeing that all I've seen thus far were men. Thanks again guys!
