Not trying to be a downer or change what you're thinking as far as a self-directed IRA, but if the 30,000 that you are considering investing is all that you have in your IRA or 401(k), just carefully weigh all of the pros and cons! I wish you the absolute best whichever way you go.

Yes, Thank you for reading in between the lines. And yes, 30k is all I have. In retirement and overall. This is my starting point, I wouldn't consider myself to be a risk taker at all but I have to make a choice and a difference in my life. I already feel that I am behind the eight ball but also feel that it is never too late. I am confident that investing in real estate is the path to take however I am not sure which way would work best. I am in a highly competitive market here in South Florida where 30k isn't much but it is a start. Once again, I thank you for your advice.

Regards,

Henry

My apologies, I accidentally hit the post button by mistake. Continuation: I own a business but it isn't RE related. The business doesn't have any full time employees. I also have a full-time job. If anyone can provide any details as to what steps they would take from here, I would greatly appreciate it. All the best, Henry

Hello fellow BP members, Im here requesting instructional information. I am not SDIRA savy nor am I solo-k savy ... I would like your advice as to which direction I should take. I like the check book strategy, having funds readily available to use at my own free will is important to me. I have about 30k in a traditional IRA with Vanguard which will need to be moved. But too where? And which company? Should I and can I move all of the funds?
You've just motivated me to keep going! Guess I need to better my credit score for these types of situations ... Thanks again!

Hi Nick,

The owner is an investor wanting to sell this property. I'm helping by looking for another investor in the area that may want to pick it up. Sorry, I don't have the property management company info. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you are interested in this property. Thanks for reaching out.

Owner doesn't like being a landlord. Has a very good and qualified property management company taking care of the property. This property can rent from $650 to $675, Asking $38k

I have used the Thumbtack app in the past and its helped filter out the bad contractors. You can read reviews, see their rating, read their replies back to reviews etc. its a helpful app/tool.

Good Luck.
