Yesterday I was laid off from my first job after college due to the instability in the market.

I am very passionate about real estate and would love to have a career that involves some aspect of it.

I would like to know if there are any real estate related careers that I could look into that are not 100% commission and do not require years of experience? My fiancé and I have been pre-approved for a loan to purchase a house and in order to receive that loan my next job cannot be 100% commission.

I really enjoy building relationships and speaking with others so naturally I enjoy selling, but again would just love to be in a position where I get to learn about real estate full time!

I sincerely appreciate any and all responses!

@Jonathan Greene thank you for your response Jonathan! I had not considered the different emotional stages of sellers. If you don’t mind me asking, how often do you send out follow up cards, and are they hand written or do you have it all automated?

@Justin G. Thank you Justin that sounds like great advice! I haven’t even considered having someone else do it, but it seems like a good idea for the future when I have a bigger budget.

@Tyler Lynn thank you Tyler! Hearing that you’re doing the same thing is very comforting. I would love to hear back in the future when you start seeing results. Wish you the best.

I am looking for a skip-tracing platform that is accurate and is capable of skipping individuals, companies, and trusts. I have tried batch and like it okay, but would prefer not to pay $40 a month for access to skip trace. What is your preference and why?

I appreciate any and all help!

@Michael Swan thank you for taking the time to respond, Swanny! I have listened to your podcast every day this week on the way to and from work and have become fascinated with your story. I find it very encouraging to know that you were able to begin investing while on a teacher salary in one of the most expensive markets in the US. I too am on a salary similar to a first year teacher and have recently had some doubts in myself, but this podcast help turn me back around. Again, I really appreciate you reaching out and will definitely be speaking with you in the near future!
