VRBO vs AirBNB -

VRBO is much better in my opinion.  The pictures are better and my experiences have been (except once) that you get what you see on the website.  There is a lot more information and we always get a call back or response right away.  Owners are very courteous and helpful.

AirBNB I have only used it a few times.  In Hawaii, in TWO airbnb's we stayed at they touted 2 bedrooms but one door was locked!  In Maui, in particular, the bedroom that was locked was the one with the view!  The other, in Capt Cook, Big Island, had bugs all over the place and when we arrived there were people already staying there and they double booked.  So my experience with AirBnb is limited but I like VRBO much better!

Yes. We are in same boat.  Fireplace insert...im really tired of building fires!  Propane is outrageous.  I may go with the units, they have a/c as well and the house is only 1100 sf.  A warm toilet seat really would be nice, tho....lol

I didn't know that was an option.....but it would be nice to have A/c when needed.  I was also told that the units can be removed to other homes!  Gayle

Hi all:

I was thinking about purchasing a house  Or multifamily Salinas/Castroville?  A new hospital Kaiser is being built in the area, along with a train/transit in the next several years.  Also, a horse race track is proposed, along with a deSal plant in Moss Landing.  The 2 marine labs are expanding as well.  So many things are happening in this area & I was wondering if it would be a good place to invest?  However, the area is very strict on water supply and the farms in the area are of heavy pesticide usage, (strawberries and artichokes) which seems strange in such a ecofriendly state as California.  The area is changing, but Im not sure if good for an investment yet.?  Thanks kindly! Gayle

Well, I hope Im at the end of my last hoop with BofA.  I understand why they do it but it seems so unnecessary to keep asking for more details about something over and over!  frustrating to say the least.  thanks to all, I 'll keep you updated.  I will reach my goal to own several rental properties soon!

Im a newby and just purchased my first rental property.  so far, so good!  It was scary...to say the least. But now, I feel confident to do it again!  "Think and Grow Rich" and "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" are both excellent books to read (in paperback) to help you clarify your goals.  good luck, you CAN do it!
